Your last three weeks before the Ontario bar exam

Three weeks is enough time to make a real difference, if you spend it practising, not rereading. Here is a plan that works whether you have been studying for months or are starting late.

Week 1: find your gaps

  • Take the free diagnostic, then write one full practice exam untimed.
  • For every question you got wrong or guessed, find where the answer lives in your materials and fix your index.
  • Look at your results by category. Your two weakest areas are where week 2 goes.

Week 2: fix the weak areas

  • Work through practice sets for your two weakest areas.
  • Add a second full exam, timed this time, at the end of the week.
  • Professional Responsibility is on both exams; if it is not already strong, the PR Mini Exam is the best use of an evening.

Week 3: exam conditions

  • Write your last full exam timed, under exam conditions, five or six days before the sitting.
  • Spend the following days reviewing its walk-through and tidying your index; no new material.
  • Confirm the date, location, ID and allowed materials on lso.ca, and pack your materials the night before.

On the day

Keep moving. With 160 questions you have under two minutes each, so mark the hard ones and come back to them. There is no penalty for a wrong answer, so never leave one blank.
