Your last three weeks before the paralegal exam
Three weeks is enough to make a real difference if you spend it practising, not rereading. This plan works whether you have been studying for months or are starting late.
Week 1: find your gaps
- Take the free diagnostic, then write one full practice exam untimed.
- For every question you got wrong or guessed, find where the answer lives in your materials and fix your tabs and index.
- Look at your results by area. Your two weakest areas are where week 2 goes.
Week 2: fix the weak areas
- Work through the practice sets for your two weakest areas.
- Write a second full exam at the end of the week, timed this time.
- If Professional Responsibility is not already strong, make it one of your two areas. It is the largest area in our exams.
Week 3: exam conditions
- Write your last full exam timed, under exam conditions, five or six days before the sitting.
- Spend the following days reviewing its walk-through and tidying your materials. No new material.
- Confirm the date, location, ID and permitted materials on lso.ca, and pack your print materials the night before.
On the day
Keep moving. With 160 questions in 4 hours and 30 minutes you have a little under 1 minute 45 seconds for each, so mark the hard ones and come back to them. There is no penalty for a wrong answer, so never leave one blank.
